About the Role

The seasonal Human Resources Intern position will be based at Discovery Land Company’s Hamptons locations—the Dune Deck Beach Club in Westhampton Beach, New York, and The Hills in East Quogue, New York—from April through September 2026. The role supports the Human Resources Department by facilitating efficient HR operations, managing employee records, coordinating recruitment, and providing administrative assistance. The intern will help create the Discovery Land Company experience for members and employees by assisting with onboarding, new‑hire coordination, and off‑boarding, maintaining the HRIS and employee files, and responding to employee questions about benefits, payroll, and employment matters. Additional duties include updating the applicant tracking system, supporting HR and recruiting projects, and completing ad‑hoc tasks assigned by the HR Manager, General Manager, or Project President. • Assist with employee onboarding, new‑hire coordination, and off‑boarding. • Maintain HRIS, employee files, and internal tools with accurate data. • Respond promptly to employee inquiries about onboarding, benefits, employment, and payroll. • Update the applicant tracking system and support various HR and recruiting projects. • Provide administrative support to the HR Manager, General Manager, and Project President as needed.

What You Bring

Candidates should be currently pursuing or recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resource Management, and may receive internship credit with school approval. Required skills include proficiency with the MS Office suite, with Workday experience considered a bonus, as well as flexibility to pivot to new projects in a fast‑paced environment. The position demands a positive attitude, professional demeanor, and strong communication and interpersonal skills to serve members, guests, and team members. Applicants must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, handle long shifts when needed, work effectively in a team, stay calm during busy periods, and meet physical demands such as standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds. • Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resource Management. • Proficient with Microsoft Office; Workday experience is a plus. • Demonstrate flexibility, a positive attitude, and strong communication skills in a fast‑paced environment. • Ability to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and occasional long shifts. • Physically able to work indoors and outdoors for extended periods and lift up to 50 lb.
