About the Role

The Operations Support team seeks a Project Manager III to oversee service provider contracts, act as the primary liaison between providers and PSE's internal and external customers, and ensure deliverables meet or exceed performance standards. In this role you will manage customer complaint resolution, supervise time and equipment operations, support budgeting and forecasting, process invoice approvals, and evaluate service provider requests for changes to unit descriptions and pricing structures. The ideal candidate will drive continuous process improvements, serve as a subject‑matter expert on contract terms, audit provider performance, and ensure proper interpretation and application of all applicable PSE rates and tariffs while upholding safety compliance standards and promoting a culture of total safety. Key responsibilities include assembling and leading multidisciplinary project teams, defining project scope, managing customer relationships, performing detailed upfront planning, identifying risks, negotiating to minimize costs, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, communicating technical information to non‑technical audiences, and maintaining schedule and budget control. • Lead multidisciplinary project teams and define project scope. • Serve as primary liaison for customers and service providers. • Resolve customer complaints and manage time/equipment operations. • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and forecasts. • Conduct upfront planning, risk identification, and cost‑minimizing negotiations. • Ensure compliance with codes, standards, rates, tariffs, and safety procedures. • Audit service provider performance and evaluate contract changes. • Support emergency response efforts as needed.

What You Bring

This position is classified as safety‑sensitive and requires pre‑employment drug screening, including testing for marijuana and its metabolites. Minimum qualifications consist of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, at least six years of relevant project management experience, strong communication and presentation skills, knowledge of scheduling, estimating, accounting, and finance principles, and proven analytical, problem‑solving, negotiating, and leadership abilities. Desired qualifications include utility‑specific project management knowledge, advanced project management training or PMI/Construction Management certification, an engineering degree or related field, and experience involving community members in project development. • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. • Six or more years managing simple to medium‑complexity projects. • Strong communication, presentation, and report writing skills. • Knowledge of scheduling, estimating, accounting, and finance principles. • Experience in budgeting, procurement, and contract administration. • Proven analytical, problem‑solving, negotiation, and leadership abilities. • Utility‑specific project management experience. • Advanced Project Management Training or PMI/Construction Management certification. • Engineering degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil) or related field. • Experience engaging community members in project development. • Familiarity with utility budgeting, procurement, and contract processes.
