About the Role
The technician role focuses on maintaining and repairing construction equipment, covering electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems. Responsibilities include disassembling and rebuilding machines, fabricating needed components, diagnosing complex issues, performing safety inspections, and executing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime. All work is performed in a safety‑first environment. • Service and oversee major electrical, hydraulic, and diesel engine repairs of construction equipment to ensure proper working condition. • Dismantle, reassemble, and rebuild equipment. • Fabricate parts and equipment as needed to meet shop and customer requirements. • Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical equipment problems. • Perform check‑ins and safety inspections; assist other technicians with general shop and equipment maintenance. • Conduct preventive maintenance to avoid unnecessary repairs and downtime in the field or remote settings. • Maintain a safe work environment and perform duties according to safety standards.

What You Bring
Candidates should have at least five years of experience servicing diesel or heavy equipment, a high school diploma or GED, and preferably some trade school training. Strong troubleshooting abilities, a solid understanding of equipment design, and a high level of safety awareness are essential. The position requires the ability to prioritize tasks, work independently, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced setting. The job entails physical activities such as bending, squatting, and lifting 25 pounds or more, as well as occasional long‑distance driving and work in extreme weather conditions, including night and weekend shifts. Sunbelt adheres to ADA/ADAAA guidelines and can provide reasonable accommodations where needed. • 5+ years of technician experience with similar diesel or heavy equipment (preferred). • High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training desired. • May need to provide own tools of the trade. • Excellent troubleshooting skills. • Ability to prioritize work assignments. • Ability to work independently and be flexible regarding work assignments. • Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment. • High degree of safety awareness. • Working knowledge of equipment design and safety requirements.
