Ladle Crane Operator

About the Role

Basic Job Functions: The Ladle Crane Operator safely transports hot metal to the caster, removes ladles, dumps and cleans them, and supplies the EAF with prepared empty ladles for tapping. The role also includes operating an overhead crane in production and non‑production settings, completing crane inspections, taking ownership of equipment, and assisting with maintaining the overhead crane. The qualified candidate must be willing to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends as required.

What You Bring

Safety is paramount at Nucor; candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. • Demonstrated commitment to safety. • Previous cab crane operating experience. • Ability to pass crane operator and mobile equipment requirements. • 2‑3 years’ experience operating a cab‑controlled overhead crane. • Understanding of melting and casting logistics. • Experience in steel making.
