About the Role
The Senior Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving growth for the Bristol City Leap programme, focusing on the commercial and industrial sector. Based in Bristol, the role involves identifying new opportunities, managing client relationships, and delivering bespoke energy‑efficiency, renewable‑energy, and M&E solutions. • Identify and pursue new C&I business opportunities in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and M&E services. • Build and maintain relationships with decision‑makers, influencers, and stakeholders. • Lead end‑to‑end sales process: qualification, proposal development, and contract negotiation. • Prepare and deliver compelling value propositions and commercial offers. • Maintain accurate CRM records and manage a robust sales pipeline. • Represent Ameresco at industry events, networking forums, and client meetings. • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and policy developments to guide strategy. • Collaborate with internal engineering and delivery teams to shape technical solutions and ensure smooth handover to project execution.

What You Bring
• Demonstrate proven track record in business development or sales within energy services or M&E, preferably with C&I clients. • Possess strong understanding of energy efficiency technologies, renewable solutions, and decarbonisation strategies. • Exhibit excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills. • Experience managing complex sales cycles and securing high‑value contracts. • Familiarity with funding mechanisms, procurement processes, frameworks, and relevant regulations. • Ability to respond to public or private sector tenders. • Self‑motivated with strong organisational skills; capable of independent work. • Confident public speaker and relationship builder. • Degree in Business, Engineering, Energy Management or related field, or equivalent experience. • Eligible to work legally in the UK.
