About the Role

The role oversees designer work, provides technical leadership, performs quality reviews of design packages, and assists with complex design tasks. It also resolves electrical project issues, motivates teams, identifies problems, recommends improvements, and helps achieve department, division, and corporate goals. • Serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) by performing peer reviews and QA/QC on projects before submission and coordinating with supervisors. • Prepare effective work plans and man‑hour budgets for approval. • Manage quality control/quality assurance processes for all assigned projects. • Participate in proposal formulation and provide marketing support, including business development. • Mentor junior staff in technical and business practices to advance corporate objectives. • Verify that all design aspects comply with local codes and apply appropriate code provisions. • Collaborate with other disciplines to deliver coordinated designs. • Maintain a licensed professional engineer status in Michigan. • Collaborate effectively with architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure coordinated designs. • Lead mid‑size and large projects successfully.

What You Bring

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Building Engineering Services team in Southfield, MI. Candidates must hold a professional engineering license in Michigan. • Hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. • Have 12–15+ years of building electrical systems design experience. • Demonstrate solid knowledge of NFPA 70 (NEC) and IEEE standards. • Be proficient in Revit, AGI Lighting, and power study software such as SKM, EasyPower, and ETAP. • Possess extensive experience with power system equipment including switchgear, transformers, panelboards, generators, and grounding systems. • Be willing to travel to client locations as needed. • Communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal, for all job‑related interactions.
