About the Role
This Opportunity takes part in providing local technical assistance for the design, development, and construction of infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector. Tasks may include basic assistance with research, design, concept development, and construction of roads, buildings, tunnels, dams, bridges, water supply systems, and sewage treatment. The role also generates accurate and concise documentation and ensures that responsibilities are delivered with quality that meets or exceeds industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. Your Impact: The selected candidate will lead, support, and coordinate civil engineering and design for substations, transmission lines, and distribution collector systems. They will apply civil engineering expertise in structural, foundation, and site design across one or multiple disciplines. Responsibilities include maintaining the Knowledge Management Program, managing scope, schedule, and budget of deliverables, and coordinating with department and project managers for workload planning, peer feedback, and client engagement. Project leadership opportunities may arise for capable candidates. • Provide civil engineering design for substations, transmission lines, and distribution collector systems. • Apply structural, foundation, and site design expertise across utility disciplines. • Contribute to and maintain the Knowledge Management Program through documentation and mentorship. • Manage scope, schedule, and budget for assigned deliverables. • Coordinate workload planning, peer feedback, and client engagement with project managers. • Lead projects when opportunities arise based on performance.

What You Bring
Who You Are – Required Qualifications: A Bachelor of Engineering from an accredited university, strong command of English with good written and oral communication skills, and computer literacy with the ability to learn new software efficiently. Preferred Qualifications include experience in engineering and design of medium, high, and extra‑high voltage utility systems, coursework such as structural analysis, concrete and steel design, soil mechanics, foundation design, and surveying, as well as prior engineering design or drafting experience. Familiarity with utilities software (PLS‑CADD, PLS‑POLE, RISA, L‑PILE, FAD) and related design criteria, calculations, and specifications is desirable. Compensation for this position ranges from $61,300 to $91,900, with the final offer based on education, experience, skills, internal equity, and geographic location.
