About the Role

The Senior Fabricator will produce components for multiple construction project types, including high‑level precision components, design and build jigs and fixtures, and lead small teams conducting similar tasks. All activities align with JE Dunn’s strategy, vision and values. • Operate manual and automated equipment to produce metal or wood components. • Assemble cut components into final products and package them for transport. • Maintain a clean shop, equipment, and common areas. • Use tablet computers and software to communicate work tasks and report progress. • Set up manual and automated shop equipment for new operations independently. • Install jigs and fixtures to produce repeatable parts. • Perform tooling changes and preventive maintenance on automated equipment without assistance. • Use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to check material and parts to thousandths of an inch. • Verify delivered or shipped materials against paperwork and report variances. • Lay out parts using measuring and marking devices for fabrication. • Interpret shop, fabrication, and construction drawings for production activities. • Troubleshoot equipment with internal team members and external partners. • Train and mentor team members within area of expertise. • Program and revise production floor machines as needed. • Provide feedback on fabrication processes and drawings. • Fit parts or assemblies to meet strict tolerance requirements. • Select optimal raw material for applications. • Program complex automated equipment for repeatable parts. • Apply basic trigonometry to determine angles from measurements. • Collaborate with leadership on tasks requiring substantial planning. • Create jigs and fixtures to improve fabrication efficiency. • Lead a small production team of up to three members. • Identify and propose system changes to prevent future equipment issues. • Follow up on inquiries promptly. • Identify common construction materials and shop equipment. • Build relationships and collaborate within internal and external teams.
