About the Role
Key responsibilities include performing observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of materials such as soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel placement on construction sites. The technician will execute tasks based on project requirements under guidance from senior technicians, staff professionals, and project managers. The position requires conducting routine field tests using industry‑standard methodologies, performing calculations and data reduction, and preparing detailed field reports that document site observations. Daily communication with contractors, other technicians, and project managers is essential to keep teams informed of changing site conditions and additional testing needs. • Perform field observation, testing, sampling, and inspection of soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. • Conduct routine field tests following industry standards and project specifications. • Calculate test results, reduce data, and prepare detailed field reports documenting site observations. • Maintain daily communication with contractors, technicians, and project managers; report site condition changes and additional testing needs. • Attend project meetings and provide updates to senior staff as required. • Receive training in ECS testing methodology and document findings per engineering practices. • Pursue professional development through internal and external certification programs (ACI, ASNT, AWS, NICET, etc.). • Maintain required certifications and OSHA 10 safety training. • Lift and transport materials up to 70 lb repeatedly (occasionally 85 lb) and operate safely on construction sites. • Use electronic devices (phones, tablets, laptops) and MS Office for data entry and reporting.

Technicians will receive training in ECS methodology for project observations, inspections, and testing, and will document findings with precision according to accepted engineering practices. Applicants must have at least three years of related experience, a high school diploma or GED, and be willing to maintain basic and advanced certifications, including OSHA 10 when required. The role involves regular lifting of 40–70 lb (occasionally up to 85 lb), a valid driver’s license with insurance, strong communication and safety knowledge, proficiency with electronic devices, solid math skills, and basic MS Office competency.
