About the Role

As a Tower Technician II you install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber‑optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment and systems. You must understand and apply MasTec’s Health, Safety and Environmental policies as well as industry standards such as OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, and ANSI. You will climb towers and ladders, conduct erection of various tower types, off‑load material, prepare and clean sites, and install new carriers on both new‑build and existing towers. Additional tasks include assisting with tower erection using helicopters, cranes or gin poles, assembling monopoles and guyed towers, installing antennas (microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, FM), placement of transmission lines, and completing foundation, grounding and conduit work. You will also mentor less‑experienced technicians and perform other duties as assigned. • Install, maintain, and operate wired, wireless, fiber‑optic, and microwave telecom equipment. • Apply MasTec health, safety, and environmental policies and industry standards (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI). • Climb towers and ladders; conduct tower erection and assist with helicopter, crane, or gin‑pole lifts. • Off‑load material, prepare sites, and install carriers on new‑build and existing towers. • Assemble monopoles and weld/knock‑down self‑support and guyed towers. • Install antennas (microwave, VHF, UHF, cellular, FM) and associated transmission lines. • Perform foundation, grounding, and conduit installation, including electrical work where required. • Mentor less‑experienced technicians.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate prioritizes safety, has a high school diploma and at least two years of tower experience, and can read and follow printed instructions. Physical requirements include climbing towers, lifting 50 lb, and working up to 12 hours, plus a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Knowledge of safety standards, OSHA regulations, and a PWSA certification are a plus. • Meet physical requirements: climb towers, lift 50 lb, work up to 12 hours; maintain a valid driver’s license. • Have at least two years of tower experience and a high school diploma; PWSA certification is a plus.
