About the Role
The Tactical Vehicle Mechanic works night shift (3:30 PM‑12:00 AM, Saturday‑Wednesday) to read and interpret military electronic and technical manuals, perform lubrication orders, and conduct fully mission‑capable (FMC) and safety verifications on tactical and commercial vehicles. The role includes diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing heavy and light wheeled vehicles, material‑handling equipment, and associated systems using IETM/TM procedures, as well as generating physical and electronic logbooks. • Perform FMC and safety verifications on heavy and light tactical wheeled vehicles and equipment. • Identify required repair parts and execute mechanical maintenance per IETM and TM procedures. • Maintain and repair PREPO, Green, and White Fleet vehicles, forklifts, cranes, transport trucks, and trailers. • Conduct diagnostic tests with specialized tools to locate mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or cooling failures. • Repair or replace engines, drivetrains, body parts, and other components. • Generate and preserve physical and electronic logbooks, NTC inspection packets, and daily inventory records. • Mentor apprentices, validate their work, and provide on‑the‑job and cross‑training. • Meet or exceed the 95 % individual productivity requirement and ensure first‑time quality compliance. • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality standards, including proper PPE, PMCS, and housekeeping. • Maintain accountability for government‑furnished equipment and conduct daily tool inventories.

What You Bring
• Possess a high school diploma (or GED) and 2½ years of verifiable experience inspecting and repairing military or civilian tactical/commercial vehicles. • Ability to read technical manuals/IETM and schematic diagrams; valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a military operator’s permit. • Must be a U.S. citizen or Green Card holder with recent U.S. residence, pass a background investigation, and meet CMF criteria (DA PAM 611‑21, AR 601‑210, AR 750‑1). • Preferred: ASE certification and extensive knowledge of powertrain, brakes, electrical, and fuel systems. • Physical requirements: lift 40 lb unassisted, team‑lift 50 lb, stand, stoop, crawl, climb for extended periods, and work in extreme weather conditions. • Willingness to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours as needed.
