About the Role
The Program Manager will oversee execution of complex, high‑impact initiatives sponsored by the City and State of NY that identify, train, and integrate small businesses into the AEC market. Leveraging program‑ and construction‑management expertise, the manager will lead a diverse portfolio of projects using mentee firms, guaranteeing that deliverables meet strict quality, safety, schedule, and budget standards while advancing NY’s mentoring initiatives. Key duties include developing and leading instruction programs for small contractors, ensuring regulatory compliance, monitoring schedules and costs, interfacing with mentee contractors and clients, resolving field‑report issues, and coordinating change orders with architects/engineers. The role also involves issuing directives to enforce contract compliance, reviewing claims, and maintaining project documentation across multiple sites. • Develop and lead instruction programs for small contractors. • Lead a diverse portfolio of construction projects ensuring quality and regulatory compliance. • Ensure mentee vendors meet high performance, design, and construction standards. • Make timely decisions to expedite construction completion. • Track and address construction mistakes early in the process. • Plan project phasing and create/monitor construction schedules. • Interface continuously with mentee contractors, local personnel, and clients on project issues. • Contribute to development and revision of project procedures and policies. • Resolve field‑report issues raised by inspectors and construction staff. • Coordinate change orders, contract interpretation, and shop‑drawing approvals with architects/engineers. • Issue field memoranda or directives to enforce contract compliance. • Review and advise on mentee contractors’ claims, compiling necessary documentation.
