About the Role
The Cybersecurity Engineer will support the Product Cybersecurity Center of Excellence by conducting research and development, evaluating products and solutions, and performing design reviews. Responsibilities include coding, scripting, and developing procedures for new cyber tools and automation, as well as managing lab environments and small projects. The role also involves idea generation and participation in product assessment planning and reviews. Key duties include hardware and embedded product threat modeling, identifying security requirements, and conducting penetration testing with risk rating. The engineer will review security features and datasheets of various chipsets, recommend appropriate components, and take part in architectural reviews affecting root of trust, secure boot, and key storage. Additionally, they will set up testing tools, perform hardware security testing, propose mitigation techniques, and automate processes such as secure boot and firmware upgrades. • Conduct hardware and embedded product threat modeling, penetration testing, and risk rating. • Review security features of chipsets and recommend suitable components. • Participate in architectural reviews focusing on root of trust, secure boot, and key storage. • Set up and operate hardware security testing tools, proposing mitigation techniques. • Automate hardware testing processes, including secure boot and firmware upgrades. • Write scripts (e.g., Python, Java) for tools such as OpenOCD. • Apply knowledge of hardware attacks, cryptography, AI-based security tools, and relevant standards (IEC 62443, UL 2900, IEC 15118, SAE 21434).

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Security, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with a cybersecurity emphasis, and have at least four years of experience in threat modeling and hardware security testing. Required knowledge includes hardware supplier risk rating, side‑channel and fault injection attacks, cryptography, PKI, AI‑based cybersecurity tools, hardware security features (TrustZone, HSM, TPM), and standards such as IEC 62443, UL 2900, IEC 15118, and SAE 21434. Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Java) for tools like OpenOCD and a solid understanding of networking fundamentals and access control are also essential.
