About the Role
• Interact and collaborate with staff members on a variety of projects • Attend project meetings with senior staff as requested • Interface with contractors and other site personnel on project sites daily • Keep supervisor informed of changing site conditions and/or additional testing requested on project sites • Schedule, train and oversee environmental technicians • Initiate project setup and implementation under direct supervision of senior staff • Document site observations and submit daily reports • Communicate changing site conditions to supervisor and adjust field investigations as directed • Work with senior staff to relate field observations and sample results to report findings • Assist on groundwater and soil investigations and media sampling • Perform boring and test pit layouts and evaluate site access with senior oversight • Assist with remediation system installation, operation, and maintenance • Assist with underground storage tank assessments

What You Bring
Engineering Consulting Services (ECS) is seeking a highly motivated Environmental Assistant Staff Project Manager. The role involves field tasks assigned by senior staff, with growth in responsibility over time. Work is primarily field‑based with limited office duties while experience is gained, and the ideal candidate demonstrates a positive customer‑service attitude and alignment with ECS core values. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or related engineering or science fields. No prior experience is required, but a valid driver’s license is needed for company‑related travel. The position requires the ability to lift at least 40 lb repeatedly and walk on uneven terrain. • Apply knowledge of sample collection, preparation, preservation, hold times, and laboratory submission regulations • Understand basic federal, state, and local environmental regulations and their implications • Basic knowledge of environmental principles and applications • Basic knowledge of permitting processes, environmental regulations, and test methods • Valid driver’s license required for driving on behalf of any ECS subsidiary • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lb repeatedly and walk on uneven ground across various terrains
