About the Role

• Read and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, and health and safety measures, including updates. • Perform survey work under the Resident Engineer’s direction. • Develop new photogrammetric data and establish primary horizontal and vertical control points with reference ties for field re‑establishment. • Record measurements, rod readings, and calculations accurately in field books. • Verify accuracy of survey data, measurements, and calculations on site. • Coordinate work priorities and schedules with the Contractor’s surveyor. • Complete traverse closures and bench circuits to check all work. • Report discrepancies or technical problems to the team leader. • Perform joint measurements of completed work for payment certification. • Check completed work for conformance to line and grade requirements in coordination with the assigned Inspector. • Conduct regular checks of the Contractor’s setting out to ensure proper execution and accuracy. • Maintain equipment condition and perform frequent calibration checks. • Keep accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed. • Coordinate findings with engineering, architectural personnel, clients, and other project stakeholders. • Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other terrain characteristics. • Prepare or supervise preparation of survey data, charts, plots, maps, records, and related documents. • Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions to certify survey work and assume liability. • Plan and conduct ground surveys to establish baselines, elevations, and geodetic measurements. • Apply and implement site safety, quality controls, and quality procedures. • Monitor health and safety of construction work and report violations.
