About the Role
• Select pipe type, size, and related materials/equipment according to specifications. • Inspect worksite for obstructions. • Plan installation sequence to avoid obstructions and coordinate with other workers. • Cut pipe using hacksaw, pipe cutter, hammer, chisel, torch, or pipe cutting machine. • Thread pipe with a threading machine. • Bend pipe manually or with bending tools/machines. • Mount pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceilings. • Assemble and install metal or non‑metal pipes and fittings using appropriate joint methods. • Secure pipes to structures with brackets, clamps, and hangers using hand and power tools. • Install and maintain refrigeration and air‑conditioning systems, including compressors, pumps, meters, and controls. • Test piping systems for leaks by pressurizing and monitoring gauges. • Weld pipe supports to structural steel members. • Observe production machines for malfunctions and operate machinery to verify repairs when needed. • Load, transport, and unload materials, tools, equipment, and supplies. • Assist in lifting, positioning, and securing materials and work pieces during installation. • Perform minor maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment. • Use respiratory protection as required. • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules; perform other duties as required. • Make decisions based on measurable criteria. • Apply shop mathematics to solve problems. • Plan work and select proper tools. • Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings. • Compare and discern differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects.

What You Bring
Journeyman with typically three or more years of documented field experience in a chosen craft discipline, capable of reading and interpreting instructions and independently planning, documenting, and performing work activities. The role involves laying out, fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping systems, supports, fixtures, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, and production and processing systems. The position may require a high school diploma or equivalent together with prior experience in the field or a related area. The candidate should possess knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures, rely on instructions and established guidelines, work under immediate supervision, and typically report to a supervisor or manager. The job demands physical stamina, including standing (60%), walking (20%), and sitting (20%), with the ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lb. Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, and fingering are also required.
