About the Role
As a Senior Plumbing‑Fire Protection Engineer, you will lead design engineering, coordinate with other MEP disciplines, and interface with clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction. You will produce drawings, apply codes, conduct peer reviews, and support commissioning of fire protection and plumbing systems. • Conduct field surveys, system assessments, and commissioning of fire protection systems. • Attend coordination meetings and visit job sites. • Perform calculations and produce clear drawings aligned with client requirements and firm standards. • Apply relevant codes and standards, interpret code requirements, and conduct peer reviews with QA/QC oversight. • Assist business development by expanding client relationships, cross‑selling services, and attending industry events. • Design fire alarm, standpipe/sprinkler, VESDA, and clean‑agent systems; develop fire safety plans, smoke and egress modeling, and oversee FLS commissioning. • Use AutoCAD‑MEP and Revit to develop technical designs.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in fire protection, electrical, or mechanical engineering and have at least eight years of field experience in fire protection and fire alarm system design. Required knowledge includes ICC, NFPA, local and NYC codes, and proficiency with AutoCAD‑MEP and Revit. NICET certification, multistate licensure, and the ability to obtain a federal security clearance are preferred. • Hold a bachelor's degree in fire protection, electrical, or mechanical engineering. • Possess 8+ years of fire protection and fire alarm system design experience. • Demonstrate knowledge of ICC, NFPA, local and NYC codes. • Obtain or maintain NICET certification in fire alarm or fire protection systems within two years. • Ability to secure federal security clearance and travel to project sites as needed.
