About the Role
The role oversees cost and value management, cash‑flow forecasting, contract negotiation, change entitlement recovery, risk mitigation, and provides commercial training to site staff. It also leads the commercial team, mentors staff, ensures compliance with health and safety standards, and aligns commercial activities with company values. The Commercial Manager prepares long‑term cash forecasts, contractual correspondence, and innovative cost‑control systems, and reports programme and change updates to stakeholders. They engage with clients, subcontractors, and industry networks to support business growth and ensure governance. • Lead cost and value management, ensuring procedures are followed • Oversee financial reporting and cash‑flow forecasting for projects • Negotiate contract terms, bonds, warranties and guarantees with clients • Manage change processes, record and recover entitlements • Drive risk and opportunity management with mitigation measures • Provide commercial training and support to site staff • Mentor and develop the commercial team’s capability • Prepare cost plans and analyse project cost reports for decision‑making • Produce long‑term cash forecasts and recommend corrective actions • Create accurate contractual correspondence and compliance reports • Develop innovative cost‑control systems and monitor financial performance • Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and industry networks • Ensure commercial practices comply with legislation and company policy

What You Bring
Candidates need proven commercial management experience in construction or infrastructure, strong contract law and risk knowledge, negotiation skills, and the ability to lead multi‑project teams. Essential qualifications include a degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law or a related field and training in bonds, warranties, dispute resolution and financial management. • Proven commercial management experience in construction or infrastructure • Strong knowledge of contract law, risk management and dispute resolution • Skilled negotiator delivering outcomes on complex projects • Experience leading commercial teams across multiple projects • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law or related field • Training in bonds, warranties, insurance, dispute resolution and financial management
