About the Role

The Plumbing Estimator will create accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of plumbing construction projects, reviewing drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine material, labor, and equipment costs while identifying risks and cost drivers. This role collaborates closely with senior estimators, project managers, vendors, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution. • Prepare plumbing cost estimates for commercial, industrial, and multi‑family projects. • Perform material, labor, and equipment takeoffs from drawings and specifications. • Assist in developing conceptual budgets and ROM estimates. • Solicit, review, and tabulate vendor and subcontractor quotations. • Analyze scope, specifications, and constructability to identify gaps, clarifications, and exclusions. • Prepare bid proposals, pricing summaries, and qualifications. • Participate in pre‑bid meetings, site walks, and internal estimate reviews. • Support project handoff meetings and validate budgets. • Maintain organized estimating files and historical cost data. • Follow company estimating standards and procedures.

What You Bring

The position requires extensive travel (80‑100% of the time) and combines primarily office‑based work with occasional site visits, pre‑bid meetings, and fast‑paced, deadline‑driven preconstruction activities. The estimator will also support handoff meetings and assist with budget validation throughout the project lifecycle. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). • 3–7 years of plumbing estimating experience in construction. • Working knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation methods. • Experience with domestic water, sanitary, storm, gas, and specialty plumbing systems. • Familiarity with plumbing codes (IPC, UPC, local amendments). • Proficiency with estimating software such as AccuBid and Bluebeam. • Ability to read plumbing drawings, riser diagrams, and specifications. • Journeyman Plumber license (preferred). • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. • Excellent communication and leadership abilities. • Extensive travel (80–100%) with primarily office work and occasional site visits and pre‑bid meetings.
