Job Highlights
About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclables to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. Commercial drivers pick up containers that can exceed 1,000 lb, navigate congested roads, and perform skilled backing maneuvers. Residential drivers collect household waste, while roll‑off drivers handle large open‑top containers on industrial routes. Drivers must follow WM safety rules, OSHA, DOT, and all laws, complete pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, report unsafe conditions, and attend required training. They work with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency, report incidents, communicate customer requests, keep sites clean, follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day paperwork, and assist teammates as needed. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to transport waste or recyclables. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Follow WM safety, OSHA, DOT regulations and all local, state, and federal laws. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and service interruptions to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Attend scheduled training, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and best practices. • Deliver containers safely, keep customer sites clean, and complete end‑of‑day paperwork. • Assist other drivers as needed to meet customer demands.

What You Bring
Applicants need at least one year of CDL‑qualified vehicle operation (or equivalent military driving) within the past seven years, be at least 18, and possess a valid Class A or B CDL with air‑brake endorsement. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role requires standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing. • Minimum 1 year CDL‑qualified driving experience (or equivalent military) within the last 7 years. • Hold a valid Class A or B CDL with air‑brake endorsement; be at least 18 years old. • Preferred: High school diploma or GED. • Physical tasks include standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.
