About the Role

• Plan drinking water utility systems (supply, transmission, pumping, storage, distribution). • Develop hydraulic models using Autodesk Innovyze, Bentley WaterGEMS, ArcGIS, Civil 3D and related software. • Build, calibrate, validate, simulate, and analyze hydraulic models; prepare technical reports. • Present findings to clients, regulatory agencies and stakeholders; provide training as needed. • Lead and mentor Level 1 and Level 2 hydraulic modelers in software and technical skills. • Assist in developing task and effort estimates for proposal support. • Apply engineering principles to solve limited‑scope technical problems. • Gather and correlate primary engineering data using established procedures. • Perform engineering calculations and analyses for routine or detailed assignments. • Record and interpret data; ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations. • Maintain positive relationships with peers and clients while working under senior supervision.

What You Bring

We are seeking a Water Utilities Engineer‑Hydraulics Engineer‑Modeler for immediate employment in one of our Southeast offices (Raleigh, Charlotte, Miami, Tampa, Atlanta, Columbia, Roanoke, or Virginia Beach) with a hybrid schedule that blends remote and on‑site work. The role involves leading water utility planning assignments, collaborating with AECOM’s Southeast Modeling Group on regional projects, and occasionally supporting national efforts. We are an equal‑opportunity employer committed to confidentiality and diversity; U.S. citizenship is required for this position, and relocation assistance or sponsorship is not available. • Minimum: BA/BS in civil or environmental engineering (or equivalent) plus 4+ years experience. • Minimum: Experience with water system hydraulic modeling software (Autodesk Innovyze, Bentley WaterGEMS). • Minimum: GIS experience and ability to work within GIS platforms. • Minimum: Ability to travel up to 2 weeks for field investigations. • Minimum: U.S. citizenship required. • Preferred: 6+ years related experience and strong work ethic. • Preferred: Professional Engineer license in North Carolina (or obtainable within 6 months). • Preferred: Experience with wastewater modeling software (e.g., Autodesk InfoWorks). • Preferred: Experience in planning, permitting and design of water distribution, storage and pumping projects. • Preferred: Engineering Intern certificate.
