About the Role
Powering Solutions with Technical Expertise. Are you a problem‑solver with a passion for Caterpillar equipment? As an Engine Technical Communicator at Mustang Cat, you'll provide expert technical support, troubleshoot complex issues, and enhance the skills of dealer technicians within our Power Systems Division. Your Impact: Technical Support & Troubleshooting – Assist service teams across locations in diagnosing and resolving complex equipment issues, provide expert guidance to Mustang Power Systems shop and field service teams, and collaborate with Caterpillar engineers via DSN to resolve critical issues. Failure Analysis & Problem Resolution – Conduct applied failure analysis, manage technical service requests, work with district CAT representatives to resolve warranty concerns, and develop cost‑effective solutions for equipment performance issues. Training & Collaboration – Mentor dealer technicians, assist sales and parts teams with technical product knowledge, and work closely with Caterpillar to improve equipment performance and service processes. • Provide technical support and troubleshoot complex Caterpillar equipment issues for service teams across locations. • Collaborate with Caterpillar engineers via DSN to resolve critical problems. • Conduct failure analysis, manage technical service requests, and address warranty concerns. • Develop cost‑effective solutions to improve equipment performance. • Mentor dealer technicians and deliver technical training to sales and parts teams.

What You Bring
What You Bring: Education & Experience – Degree in Diesel Technology or related field (or equivalent experience) and strong hands‑on experience with Caterpillar engines and power systems. Technical Skills – Expertise in internal combustion engines, ability to read schematics and engineering drawings, proficiency with precision measuring tools and dyno testing, and familiarity with CAT diagnostic and service systems. Soft Skills – Excellent communication, problem‑solving abilities, detail‑oriented, adaptable in high‑pressure situations, and a team player with a passion for continuous learning. • Hold a degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent experience with strong hands‑on Caterpillar engine expertise. • Demonstrate expertise in internal combustion engines, schematics reading, precision measuring, dyno testing, and CAT diagnostic systems. • Possess excellent communication, problem‑solving, detail‑orientation, and teamwork skills.
