About the Role
The Director of Operations is accountable for day‑to‑day project execution across the Division/Business Unit, overseeing Project Managers, Construction Managers and Superintendents. The role carries full profit‑and‑loss responsibility for assigned projects and requires strong operational expertise. In this role the Director will develop operational plans, manage budgeting, staffing, safety, quality and procurement, and direct multiple projects valued at $500 million or more. He/she will also lead business development, financial oversight, contract negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and supervise field personnel. • Develop and execute operation plans, overseeing budgeting, staffing, safety, quality, and procurement for all projects. • Direct subordinate Project Managers, Construction Managers, and Superintendents to optimize equipment, facilities, and personnel usage. • Manage multiple projects with total values of $500 million or more. • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, building relationships with owners, OEMs, and engineering firms. • Represent the company at trade shows, client events, and community activities. • Review financial and operational reports, perform cost analysis, and ensure project budgets are met. • Approve requisitions for equipment, materials, and supplies within budget limits and negotiate supplier contracts. • Lead contract review, negotiation, and Change Order Management focusing on cost, schedule, and scope. • Interact regularly with senior management and client representatives; attend internal and external project meetings. • Enforce compliance with administrative policies, safety regulations, and governmental requirements. • Train, develop, and approve personnel actions and compensation for project teams. • Ensure safety and quality standards are upheld by all employees and subcontractors. • Lead pre‑construction activities including bid review, proposal development, risk assessment, and schedule handover. • Monitor execution phase, controlling schedule, budget, safety, quality and productivity; implement corrective actions as needed. • Provide additional duties as directed by division or corporate leadership and mentor direct reports. • Maintain thorough understanding of corporate and industry standards, health and safety programs, and regulatory requirements.

What You Bring
The position requires a four‑year degree in construction, engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience) and at least ten years of combined construction, design, finance and management experience, preferably in heavy‑industrial environments such as power generation. Candidates must possess strong leadership, communication, safety, and financial acumen, as well as proficiency with standard office software. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in construction, engineering or related discipline (or equivalent experience). • Possess ten or more years of experience in construction, design, finance, and management, preferably in heavy‑industrial settings such as power generation or mining. • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of construction/fabrication methods, EPC and design‑build delivery models. • Exhibit strong persuasive, influencing, communication and presentation skills. • Ability to apply innovative management techniques to maximize employee and project performance. • Proficiency with standard office software and strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
