Substation Engineer IV

About the Role

• Regularly meet and correspond with clients or outside personnel • Support business development and marketing initiatives • Lead in preparation of proposals and scope development, including: • Calculations for studies and reports (grounding, lighting protection, AC/DC load studies, etc.) • Provide leadership, training and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team member • Perform quality reviews for other engineers and designers • Provide short term field support during construction • Lead in the execution of engineering activities: Physical substation design including yard layouts, plans, sections and details, grounding, lightning protection, control building arrangements, interior and exterior raceways, auxiliary AC/DC power systems, and associated bills of material • Lead coordination of design activities with other departments (Civil/Structural, Networks, Transmission Line, etc.) • Develop and improve processes, tools and/or technology implementations

What You Bring

• Minimum 5 years related experience (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience) • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from accredited program • Strong preference for those with: • Excellent written • verbal communication skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Capability of solving difficult problems that require adaptation and modification of standard approaches, techniques, procedures, and criteria • Proficiency with National Electrical Safety Code and IEEE / ANSI Standard • Professional Engineer registration preferred
