About the Role
The Director of Land Acquisitions will develop awareness of land opportunities that align with the company’s acquisition strategies and stay attuned to current market trends in land development and homebuilding. This senior leader oversees all land‑acquisition operations for the division and drives the pipeline from initial identification through contract execution. Key responsibilities include monitoring and coordinating potential land acquisitions, managing the review process, tracking sites from initial look to contract, and maintaining the land tracker and top‑10 list. The role also prepares and liaises with sub‑contractors, brokers, attorneys, utility companies and governing agencies, while developing market intelligence and pipeline reports for each county. • Monitor and coordinate potential land acquisition opportunities, tracking each site from initial review to contract. • Maintain and update the land tracker, top‑10 list, and pipeline reports for all counties in the region. • Prepare earnest money requests, due‑diligence documentation, and contract summaries for Greenbooks. • Liaise with sub‑contractors, real‑estate brokers, attorneys, utility companies and governing agencies throughout the acquisition process. • Network with builders and developers to stay aware of market trends and strengthen competitive positioning. • Compile materials for hearings, entitlement budgeting and HOA coordination as required. • Work with attorneys to draft LOIs, contracts, amendments and ensure contract compliance.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a four‑year degree in business administration, engineering, accounting, finance or a related field and have at least four years of land‑acquisition experience, preferably with a national homebuilder in the Utah market. Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet analysis, project scheduling and data‑management software is required, along with strong negotiation, communication and problem‑solving abilities. • Hold a four‑year degree in business, engineering, accounting, finance or a related discipline. • Possess minimum four years of land acquisition experience, preferably with a national homebuilder in Utah. • Demonstrate proficiency in word‑processing, spreadsheet analysis, project scheduling and data‑management software. • Exhibit strong negotiation, written and verbal communication, and problem‑solving skills; detail‑oriented and able to work independently. • Maintain a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
