Job Highlights
About the Role
• Coordinate work with other contractors. • Liaise with route engineers. • Participate in engineering and development assurance to deliver affordable, safe, and environmentally responsible schemes on time, cost, and quality. • Contribute to engineering assurance considering safety, reliability, maintainability, constructability, and whole‑life impacts. • Review compliance with relevant standards. • Apply risk identification and evaluation methods (e.g., HAZOP, QRA) to assess options. • Develop and assure the selected engineering option. • Prepare the full engineering assurance package for detailed design and address clarification queries. • Perform engineering verifications. • Manage engineering interfaces across concurrent disciplines. • Produce and approve method statements for site works and surveys in collaboration with the project engineer. • Ensure contractors’ design, construction, and specialist personnel are competent (e.g., CEM/CRE appointment). • Commitment to diversity and inclusion; encourage applications even if not meeting all criteria.

What You Bring
Within our consulting business, we combine leading‑edge practical expertise with project delivery consultancy to unlock the potential of every project. The position requires office attendance three days a week, with ad‑hoc travel to sites in and around Belfast. • Chartered engineer status preferred; hold a relevant engineering degree (BSc/BEng or equivalent) with at least 5 years of relevant experience. • Capable of fulfilling the Project Engineer (PE) role. • Strong understanding of CDM 2015 and CSM 2013 regulations, especially asset protection on third‑party, major, and minor projects. • Knowledge of Network Rail risk assessment processes, including CSM‑RA. • Willingness to consider part‑time, flexible, or hybrid working arrangements.
