About the Role
The Senior Scheduling Engineer will oversee all planning and scheduling activities, ensuring corporate standards are applied and project work complies with schedule stands. This position also guides the scheduling team and coordinates site logistics. • Provide oversight of all planning and scheduling activities • Plan, coordinate, supervise, and direct planning and scheduling activities • Ensure corporate planning and schedule standards are implemented and project activities comply • Supervise the scheduling team • Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendents • Establish and nurture a teamwork environment • Ensure crews have necessary resources and support • Provide work direction and conduct performance evaluations • Identify hiring needs and participate in hiring, discipline, and dismissal decisions • Develop leadership potential through task assignments and career growth opportunities • Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program at the project site • Manage open shop and union issues • Maintain relationships with site visitors such as customers, architects, union representatives, and subcontractors • Manage site work and logistics efficiently and suggest improvements • Read, review, and interpret plans and specifications effectively • Be results‑oriented to ensure delivery of accurate, complete, and timely products and services

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking a Senior Scheduler I who can interact with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment. The role demands flexibility, resourcefulness, proactivity, efficiency, and a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field and have at least four years of construction experience, with project‑engineer experience considered a plus. Strong communication, scheduling expertise, knowledge of construction practices, and the ability to solve complex problems are essential. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. Mortenson does not accept agency solicitations without a valid agreement, and postings typically remain open for a minimum of five days. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or an equivalent field • Have a minimum of four years of construction experience or an equivalent mix of training and experience • Possess project‑engineer experience (desired) • Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills • Exhibit active listening and openness to diverse input and feedback • Be willing to travel as required by the operating group • Maintain thorough knowledge of scheduling concepts, principles, practices, and company software • Understand standard construction practices and project sequencing • Exercise creativity and mature judgment to solve unprecedented problems on complex projects • Possess basic knowledge of project management, contracts, and buyout processes • Be familiar with 4D visual planning methodologies • Show strong organization and teamwork skills • Understand cost and resource‑loaded schedules at a basic level • Know basic claims avoidance and resolution techniques • Ability to work in a cross‑functional, collaborative, team‑based environment • Exhibit excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with initiative to seek innovative solutions

Base salary ranges from $102,000 to $137,000, with higher ranges for locations such as Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C.
