Journeyman Electrician

About the Role

CURRENT OPPORTUNITY: Journeyman Electrician – responsible for installing electrical systems in commercial and industrial construction markets, supervising assigned helpers or apprentices, and promoting excellent customer relations by interacting with clients to determine needs and provide solutions. • Report to project worksite on time and ready to work. • Apply basic electrical and construction principles to solve design and modification problems. • Complete work in accordance with national and local codes, including the latest NEC revisions. • Follow company policies and stay on project schedule as directed by the foreman. • Supervise or coordinate assigned helper/apprentice electricians. • Load materials, dig trenches, pull wire, and perform various project tasks. • Maintain a clean, clutter‑free job site and treat all personnel with dignity and respect. • Complete required paperwork such as timecards. • Enforce safety policies and training. • Troubleshoot common electrical systems (services, feeders, branch circuits). • Plan installations to minimize material waste and ensure future maintenance access. • Prepare or follow wiring sketches, diagrams, or blueprints. • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install conduit; pull wiring through conduit. • Splice, strip, and connect wires, lighting fixtures, and power equipment. • Install control and distribution apparatus (switches, relays, circuit‑breaker panels). • Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads. • Observe installed equipment for hazards and adjust or replace as needed. • Repair faulty equipment or systems.
