About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end load‑lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable containers that can weigh over 1,000 pounds. Roles include commercial drivers handling pickup service, residential drivers collecting household waste, and roll‑off drivers loading large open‑top containers, all requiring skilled backing maneuvers in congested or tight environments. • Operate vehicles in compliance with WM safety rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. • Complete pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and document findings on the DVIR. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, and service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Attend required training programs, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and share best practices. • Communicate customer requests and ensure receptacles are dumped cleanly, leaving sites free of debris. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and assist other drivers as needed.
