About the Role
• Assist Rigger/Rigger Foreman with loading, transporting, unloading, and selecting cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks and sheaves based on load weight and size • Assist Rigger/Rigger Foreman with signaling or verbally directing workers during hoisting and load moving to ensure safety • Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment • Assist other craft workers as needed

What You Bring
The Rigger Helper works under direct supervision of a qualified rigger, assisting skilled craftspersons with runner duties, material layout, and measurement for installation. The role requires basic knowledge of complex and heavy rigging, crane boom and cable changes, electrical and scaffold safety, lifting machinery, wire rope basics, fire prevention, load chart usage, cutting torches, and blueprint reading. The helper must learn and follow all safety hazards and operate work‑related tools and equipment safely in plant operations or construction jobsite settings. Physical requirements include the ability to push, pull, lift or carry up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb), frequent hand‑eye coordination, and the stamina for repetitive hand/arm use, climbing, balancing on steel or wood frameworks, and maneuvering on uneven or adverse terrain. The position may involve prolonged bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, overhead reaching, squatting, and exposure to adverse weather or confined spaces, and the use of hand and power tools with proper training. Mentally, the helper must communicate effectively with supervisors, maintain concentration amid distractions, make decisions, and be detail‑oriented.
