About the Role
The primary aim is to ensure compliance with external regulatory frameworks such as EASA Part‑145 and the UK MoD MAA MRP145, as well as AS9100/AS9110 standards. The engineer will also back Technical Review Committees and manage investigations related to Mandatory Occurrence Reports, MARS and MEDA. Key duties include driving regulatory compliance, acting as a liaison for defence audits, coordinating MARS activities, and conducting investigations into non‑conformances. The role also manages customer returns through SAP Quality Notification, collaborates with Project Quality Engineers to implement engineering changes, and develops internal processes to eliminate waste. • Ensure compliance with EASA Part‑145, UK MoD MAA MRP145, AS9100 and AS9110 regulations. • Support Technical Review Committees and act as guide for external defence auditors. • Coordinate the Manage Action Reports System (MARS) within the value stream. • Conduct MARS and MEDA investigations and resolve mandatory occurrence reports. • Manage non‑conformance issues and customer returns via SAP Quality Notification. • Liaise with the Containment Team to apply the 8‑D problem‑resolution methodology. • Work with Project Quality Engineers to drive engineering and process changes. • Develop and implement internal processes to reduce waste in non‑conformance handling. • Maintain visual management tools to display activity status and achievements. • Operate defined quality processes such as S2 Manage Problems and Control of Non‑Conforming Product. • Perform regular audits and compliance checks across the MRO operation. • Apply root‑cause analysis and data‑driven decision making to continuous improvement.

The role reports to the Defence MRO Quality and Certification Manager and is classified at Staff Grade SNBG 7‑10. Required expertise covers non‑conformance management, 8‑D problem‑resolution, root‑cause analysis and data‑driven decision making. Preferred qualifications include Green Belt accreditation, internal‑audit certification (lead auditor ideal), and strong interpersonal influencing skills. • Hold Green Belt accreditation (beneficial) and internal‑audit qualification (lead auditor preferred).
