About the Role
The Recreation Supervisor role is responsible for supervising and coordinating an effective recreation program in compliance with government, corporate, and management directives. This on‑site position involves overseeing program activities, staff, budgeting, safety, and student development. • Plan, coordinate, and supervise recreation program activities and administration. • Train staff, evaluate performance, and recommend personnel changes. • Assist with budgeting, monitor expenditures, and recommend purchases. • Develop and implement recreation policies, procedures, and new programs. • Instruct students in on‑center and off‑center recreation and organize activities such as arts & crafts, water safety, sports, and special interest programs. • Counsel and motivate students on behavior, habits, and personal development; liaise with career and training staff. • Maintain equipment, supplies, and inventory; ensure safety and proper use of venues. • Oversee community partnerships and special recreational events. • Coordinate newcomer recreation orientation and transport students/staff as needed. • Monitor vending operations and ensure accountability of students and property. • Process accident/injury reports, identify hazards, and implement corrective measures. • Track student progress per corporate and DOL data‑integrity guidelines and mentor toward career success.

What You Bring
• Associate’s degree in recreation, physical education or related field. • Minimum two years related experience, including at least one year in a supervisory role. • Ability to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) within 90 days and maintain DOT/CDL medical certification. • Pass required background, drug testing, and DOT/CDL alcohol testing programs. • Maintain a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. • Bachelor’s degree in recreation, physical education or related field (preferred). • Experience with Job Corps or managing recreation programs in schools or park systems (preferred).
