About the Role

The role oversees all day‑to‑day landfill activities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards while maximizing productivity. Responsibilities include coordinating construction, permitting, leachate and gas management, and monitoring waste volumes. The manager also leads staff, supports budgeting, and reports performance metrics. • Ensure smooth landfill operation, including construction, permitting, and leachate/gas management. • Reduce truck turnaround time at the site. • Accurately track waste volume and weight. • Act as liaison for community relationships. • Monitor and address permitting issues. • Follow WM’s Mission to Zero standards and related regulations. • Meet all financial review dates and corporate program deadlines. • Oversee personnel: select, coach, train, evaluate, and advise on termination, compensation, and promotion. • Assist with budget preparation as needed. • Maintain landfill cleanliness and property through inspections and preventive maintenance. • Conduct or attend safety meetings to boost morale, productivity, and efficiency. • Provide training and presentations in a professional manner. • Update and submit required reports promptly.
