About the Role
Under general supervision, the geologist will perform routine field work such as soil, groundwater, stormwater, and gas sampling, as well as drilling and well installation. Responsibilities include maintaining quality control, generating precise electronic and field‑notebook documentation, adhering to safety and site‑specific procedures, applying modern analytical techniques, completing assigned training, and acting ethically in accordance with WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Perform field sampling of soil, groundwater, stormwater, and gases, including drilling and well installation. • Maintain quality control standards for accurate measurements and documentation. • Generate precise electronic and field‑notebook reports on sample collection and analysis. • Follow safety guidelines, site procedures, and maintain thorough sample and location records. • Utilize modern techniques to analyze organic and inorganic compounds. • Complete assigned training and uphold WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Work independently under general supervision and collaborate within a team.

What You Bring
Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or a related field, 0‑1 year of relevant experience, strong research and analytical skills, familiarity with hazardous substance reduction and environmental regulations, effective communication abilities, self‑leadership, attention to detail, and proficiency with technical writing and office software. The candidate must have a solid safety record, a valid driver’s license, and be willing to travel up to 50% of the time. Preferred qualifications are participation in professional organizations, familiarity with ArcGIS, gINT, or OpenGround Cloud, and a 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification.
