About the Role
You will serve as the site technical expert, mentor apprentices, and design, develop, implement, and optimize PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks. Responsibilities include maintaining and troubleshooting equipment, following documentation and change‑management procedures, partnering with operations and engineering teams, monitoring MHE metrics, conducting root‑cause analysis, and driving continuous‑improvement projects. • Design, develop, and implement automation control systems for industrial and warehouse equipment • Optimize and maintain PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks • Mentor apprentices and enforce safety and technical standards • Follow documentation and Automation Change Management procedures • Collaborate with operations, engineering, and support teams to improve MHE systems • Monitor metrics, analyze performance issues, and lead troubleshooting locally and remotely • Conduct root‑cause analysis and drive continuous‑improvement projects for cost and performance gains • Communicate technical issues, timelines, and workarounds to leadership and stakeholders

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation control systems for industrial processes and warehouse distribution equipment. The position focuses on improving reliability and performance of conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, cameras, print‑and‑apply systems, and SCADA devices while adhering to strict safety policies. A 4‑year degree (or equivalent) and proven ability to lead, train, and mentor junior engineers are required, along with proficiency in CMMS, strong problem‑solving skills, and flexibility to work varied shifts. Preferred candidates have 2+ years of PLC programming, experience with motor controls, RSLogix5000, SCADA, and field‑service engineering, as well as a record of remote technical support and automation improvements. • Hold a 4‑year degree or equivalent • Demonstrated leadership, training, and mentoring experience • Proficient with CMMS and multi‑stakeholder coordination • Advanced verbal and written English communication skills • 2+ years PLC programming, HMI/control network design, and SCADA experience (preferred) • Hands‑on motor‑control (VFDs, drives, starters) and industrial electrical knowledge (preferred) • Experience with RSLogix5000, FT View, controls design, and systems integration (preferred) • Ability to read and modify mechanical/electrical drawings • Field service engineering and technical training background (preferred)
