About the Role

The internship provides financial services support to profit centers, covering functions such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, reconciliations and special services. The role reports to an Accounting Manager, Accountant or Senior Accountant within Operational Finance. The intern will assist accountants with client billing requirements, process vendor and subcontractor invoices, ensure lien waivers and insurance are in place, and help close monthly books by posting or accruing project costs. Additional duties include supporting audit requests, facilitating data entry for multi‑project invoices, handling vendor setup and tax reporting, preparing payment applications, and providing progress reports to supervisors. • Assist accountant to ensure client contractual billing and accounts receivable requirements are met. • Process vendor invoices and maintain up‑to‑date accounts payable for assigned projects. • Process subcontractor invoices, verify lien waivers, contracts and insurance requirements. • Support monthly close by posting or accruing client bills and project costs. • Assist with internal and external audit requests. • Facilitate data entry for project‑specific vendor invoices and prepare multi‑project invoices for central posting. • Perform administrative tasks such as vendor setup, sales/use tax reporting, and collection of client tax‑exempt certificates. • Help compile supporting documentation for Turner owner payment applications. • Provide supervisor with periodic progress reports. • Apply academic knowledge to real‑world finance tasks. • Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures and professional conduct standards. • Maintain professional relationships with employees and customers. • Prepare for and attend conferences and learning opportunities offered by the company.

What You Bring

Candidates must be enrolled in an accredited four‑year college or university, preferably studying Accounting, Finance or a related field, with at least one year of coursework. They should demonstrate interpersonal leadership, a passion for learning Turner’s finance strategy, strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency in MS Office and intermediate‑to‑advanced Excel. The position requires the ability to meet physical demands such as climbing stairs, ladders, handling tools, and occasional lifting of heavy objects, as well as working in typical construction site conditions including noise, weather exposure and potential hazards.
