About the Role

As a Principal Experience Researcher on Autodesk’s Platform Data team, you will shape user‑centered insights and strategy for the AEC Data Model (AECDM), the core data platform that underpins Autodesk’s AEC products and the AEC Industry Cloud, Forma. The Platform Data team defines, builds, and coordinates the AECDM—a granular data ecosystem that enables scalable, high‑value customer workflows across the AEC project lifecycle, including services such as the AEC Model Store, AEC Data Service, Autodesk Parameters Service, and Autodesk Content Catalog. Reporting to the Research Manager for AEC Platform, you will partner with product managers, designers, engineers, data scientists, and analytics partners across early‑stage exploration, feature definition, and post‑release learning, using research to bring clarity and direction in ambiguous, evolving problem spaces while also mentoring others and advancing platform‑level research practices. • Build and lead strong partnerships with product, data, and experience leaders to inform strategic decisions across platform and product initiatives. • Design and execute mixed‑methods research programs that align with business objectives and span the full product lifecycle. • Lead research for complex, cross‑functional, and evolving platform areas using co‑creation and early‑stage methods to surface user needs and generate concepts. • Collect, analyze, and interpret qualitative and quantitative data with advanced empirical and statistical approaches, synthesizing insights to guide strategy. • Facilitate and guide cross‑disciplinary teams in ideating and developing research‑grounded strategies, including future experience principles, user journeys, and implementation roadmaps. • Partner with analytics and data teams to develop measurement strategies, assess impact, and support data‑informed iteration of platform capabilities. • Design and facilitate workshops for idea generation, alignment, strategic decision making, and co‑creation with internal teams and customers. • Communicate research findings through clear, compelling storytelling tailored to diverse audiences and seniority levels. • Mentor and enable others by creating case studies, frameworks, and scalable research practices that build team capacity.
