What You Bring
As an engineering inspector you will receive exceptional training and career development while working in the field under the direct charge of experienced field engineers on challenging projects. You will be responsible for field inspections, performing design calculations, verifying dimensions and project data, and examining workmanship for conformity to standards, all while working under the supervision of a field engineer, project manager, or senior team member. The role requires strong communication skills to maintain positive lines with technicians, engineers, contractors, and the public, and the ability to work nights and weekends on any assigned project throughout North Carolina. You must apply our safety philosophy to all operations, work safely in outdoor environments with hazards such as heights, highway traffic, and rough terrain, and be able to perform moderate physical activity including walking, climbing, kneeling, standing, and lifting up to 50 lb. Additional requirements include close visual acuity for reviewing plan details, the ability to survey and inspect construction sites in variable temperatures and terrain, and the capability to work both independently and productively in a team. Preference will be given to candidates with at least two years of related experience, a high‑school diploma, flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities, the ability to take and provide direction, and a valid NC driver’s license. • Apply safety philosophy and operate safely in hazardous outdoor environments • Perform moderate physical activity, including walking, climbing, kneeling, standing, and lift up to 50 lb • 2+ years of related experience preferred • High school diploma required • Flexible with ability to adapt to shifting priorities and provide or receive direction • Valid NC driver’s license required
