About the Role

The role involves thorough end-to-end R&D testing of bay-level substation automation solutions and supporting related software tools. You will also work on enhancing verification and validation processes through innovative automation paradigms and tools, contributing to high-quality product delivery. As a member of the test core team, you will verify and validate substation automation products, develop and execute test cases, and report defect logs. You will collaborate with various product stakeholder groups, ensuring consistent and efficient integration of modular software subsystems while adhering to applicable regulations and Hitachi Energy’s core values of safety and integrity. • Verify and validate substation automation products and bay-level solutions. • Participate in test core team workshops to gather product test requirements. • Design, code, and execute black‑box and functional test cases. • Develop adaptive test cases aligned with system and product specifications. • Log, report, and track defects throughout the testing lifecycle. • Collaborate with product stakeholders, managers, analysts, and developers. • Ensure modular, maintainable software integration across subsystems. • Maintain compliance with internal and external regulations and procedures. • Apply Hitachi Energy’s safety and integrity values in daily work.

What You Bring

The position requires a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering and 3–8 years of practical experience in Substation Automation. Candidates should be technically proficient in protection and communication protocols, familiar with computer networks and OSI layers, and skilled in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#. Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle and Agile methods, as well as strong English communication skills, are essential. • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. • 3–8 years of hands‑on experience in Substation Automation. • Strong knowledge of protection and communication protocols used in substations. • Familiarity with computer networks and OSI layer concepts. • Proficiency in Python, Java, or C# programming languages. • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle; Agile experience a plus. • Effective oral and written communication skills in English.
