About the Role
Every role at HDR contributes to positive change locally and globally. As a Bridge Engineer in Training (EIT), you will help design and detail bridges that improve communities and support critical infrastructure. • Apply structural engineering and detailing techniques to develop bridge designs. • Design various bridge types such as steel plate girder, prestressed concrete, pedestrian, railroad, retaining wall, and signage bridges, often in seismic regions. • Perform structural load calculations, geometric layout, and quantity development. • Select standard bridge engineering procedures and create detailed structural models using specialized software. • Participate in bridge inspections and assist with field assessments.

What You Bring
• Hold a Master’s degree in Civil (Structural) Engineering (preferred). • Have at least two years of bridge design experience. • Demonstrate familiarity with engineering software packages (e.g., SAP2000, LARSA 4D, LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB‑MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, Midas Civil, MDX, CSiBridge, ADINA, RM Bridge, spColumn, LUSAS, STLBridgeLRFD, STLBridge). • Possess a Bachelor’s degree and an Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. • Proficient in MS Office, MathCAD, AutoCAD, LARSA, and prestressed concrete design. • Experience with Bluebeam Revu and additional bridge analysis tools (e.g., LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB‑MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, Midas Civil, MDX, SAP2000, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, STLBridge). • Knowledge of Bentley OpenBridge Designer/OpenBridge Modeler or Autodesk InfraWorks and Civil 3D. • Strong computer skills for structural layout and design, coupled with good communication and teamwork abilities.
