Job Highlights
About the Role
The manager will lead Mechanical and Electrical Services consultants and sub‑contractors through design, installation, testing and commissioning, while ensuring the highest health and safety standards on site and fostering a positive H&S culture measured monthly. They will also develop and maintain safety and quality plans in line with the Galliford Try Business Management System and SHE standards, and ensure all work complies with drawings and specifications. • Manage outsourced design production and direct service design/installation to meet time, cost, and quality targets. • Lead Mechanical and Electrical Services consultants and sub‑contractors through design, installation, testing, and commissioning. • Achieve and measure the highest health & safety standards on site, fostering a positive H&S culture. • Develop and maintain safety and quality plans in line with Galliford Try’s BMS and SHE standards. • Oversee sub‑contractors to produce detailed programme schedules and weekly labour, plant, and material returns. • Promote a ‘Best Quality’ culture, enforcing high workmanship standards and rejecting inferior work. • Maintain professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders via agreed PR procedures.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold a recognised Building Services qualification to HNC or degree level and have experience working for a main contractor in a building services role. Full knowledge of health and safety legislation, basic sub‑contract processes, and practical project‑management skills such as programming, cash‑flow analysis and resource planning are required. • Hold a recognised Building Services qualification to HNC/Degree level. • Experience in a main contractor building services role (advantageous). • Full knowledge of health and safety legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and CDM 2015. • Basic understanding of sub‑contract processes, contract and commercial aspects. • Familiarity with project management techniques such as programming, cash‑flow analysis, and resource planning.
