About the Role
The Senior Sales Trainer for the DMV area drives sales performance for the Closets and Garages divisions. Working closely with the Regional Sales Manager, the trainer oversees onboarding, delivers classroom and field training, and provides targeted coaching to under‑performing reps to meet KPI expectations. The role blends sales training, field coaching, process discipline, and performance improvement to ensure consistency and execution across the territory. • Own and execute new hire sales training program for Closets and Garages. • Deliver training on sales process, product knowledge, design fundamentals, objection handling, closing techniques, systems usage, and paperwork standards. • Partner with Regional Sales Manager to ensure new hires are fully trained and field‑ready. • Coordinate training classes, including accommodations, meals, documentation, sales kits, and samples. • Track onboarding progress, system access, software setup, and training resources. • Conduct skill gap analysis, develop training materials, and evaluate training effectiveness. • Lead ongoing sales, design, and process training to improve close rate, average ticket, design accuracy, and reduce service issues. • Provide paperwork training and quality control, spot‑checking designs and job documentation. • Support designers in the field with design questions, technical errors, and product specifications. • Identify Design Consultants needing additional support and deliver targeted coaching and improvement plans. • Conduct ride‑alongs, shadowing, and follow‑up coaching to reinforce standards. • Maintain strong field presence to model best practices. • Act as extension of Regional Sales Manager to reinforce accountability and execution standards. • Support sales‑related projects: training materials, playbooks, SOPs, tools, scripts, presentations, and job flow improvements. • Assist with rollouts of new products, pricing, programs, and sales initiatives. • Partner with Operations to align training with install and service expectations. • Provide administrative support within ClosetPro, including backend functionality and process support. • Stay current on market trends, product updates, and corporate sales changes. • Assist with scheduling, prioritization, hiring input, and performance feedback. • Achieve territory net sales, net close percentage, average ticket, and net sales per lead issue against budget. • Reduce service rate caused by sales team errors (paperwork, measurements, etc.). • Improve training quality metrics: time‑to‑first sale, 60‑day KPI attainment, and 180‑day retention of trained reps.

What You Bring
The position requires regular travel within the territory, occasional evening and weekend virtual support, and a strong field presence to observe customer interactions. It is an exempt, office‑based role with moderate noise levels and occasional lifting of up to 35 lb. Candidates must be comfortable with Microsoft Office 365, CAD software, and preferably ClosetPro. • 3–5+ years experience in in‑home sales, sales leadership, or sales training (prefer home improvement). • Strong consultative, one‑call‑close selling expertise. • Ability to coach sales skills and execution discipline. • Experience in design‑driven sales environments (closets, garages, etc.). • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and process‑focused. • Comfortable delivering group and one‑on‑one training. • Data‑driven with ability to diagnose performance and process issues. • Willingness to travel within the territory. • High school diploma; some college preferred. • Minimum 2 years design experience and 2 years CAD hands‑on experience. • Demonstrated spatial reasoning and design problem‑solving skills. • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. • Ability to align clients and internal partners on design, payments, ordering, and technical support. • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365; CAD proficiency (any major program) required; ClosetPro experience preferred.
