Fabrication Tech III
Perform precision mechanical soldering and assembly of aerospace components
Job Highlights
About the Role
The technician will perform mechanical soldering on tiny and delicate assemblies, operating high‑pressure equipment safely while following written manufacturing instructions. A thorough understanding of mechanical drawings, tooling, and top‑level parts is required, as is the ability to solder under a microscope for extended periods. The role also involves diagnosing mechanical issues and working on complex projects with minimal supervision, coordinating with engineering as needed. Before production, the technician must verify that calibrated equipment and materials are current and accurately documented, and manage component traceability to ensure assembly accuracy. Collaboration with engineering is expected to identify improvement opportunities that reduce lead time, lower cost, eliminate waste, or enhance safety. Maintaining certified operator status and complying with Environmental, Health, and Safety standards are also essential. • Perform mechanical soldering on tiny/delicate assemblies using microscopes. • Operate high‑pressure equipment safely following established procedures. • Interpret mechanical drawings, tooling, and top‑level part specifications. • Verify calibration, expiration dates, and documentation of equipment and materials before production. • Manage traceability of components to ensure assembly accuracy. • Collaborate with engineering to identify and implement process improvements. • Maintain certified operator status and adhere to EHS standards. • Utilize precision measurement tools with at least one year of experience. • Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous‑improvement principles to manufacturing tasks.
