About the Role

In this casual, part‑time role the consultant will work alongside partners to provide transaction advisory services to financial institutions, infrastructure operators, private equity firms and energy companies. Responsibilities include delivering technical due diligence for buy‑side, sell‑side and project‑financing deals, creating proposals, and overseeing large, complex consulting engagements from scope definition to report delivery. M&A at ERM currently comprises over 50 consultants delivering technical, ESG and EHS due diligence. To meet rising client demand, the role will expand the Infrastructure service line by leading multidisciplinary projects, coordinating subject‑matter experts, and contributing to internal development initiatives that improve service functionality. • Deliver technical due diligence for buy‑side, sell‑side, and project‑financing transactions. • Create and manage proposals, including scope, schedule, and commercial terms. • Lead large, multidisciplinary consulting projects and coordinate subject‑matter experts. • Maintain client relationships through meetings, Q&A sessions, and report delivery. • Identify service evolution opportunities and follow‑on sales prospects. • Support account management teams to achieve sales targets. • Mentor and inspire technical team members, managing performance and hiring. • Conduct construction monitoring visits and site assessments as required. • Review EPC contracts, financial models, designs, specifications, and budgets. • Assess asset integrity, HSE performance, maintenance and availability metrics.

What You Bring

Candidates must have an engineering‑focused academic background (e.g., civil, chemical, mechanical or electrical) and at least 15 years of technical consulting or operational experience in the energy or infrastructure sectors. Essential skills include strong technical risk analysis, excellent organisational and self‑motivation abilities, advanced report writing and presentation, and experience reviewing EPC contracts, financial models and asset‑integrity data. Desirable attributes include prior client‑facing project management, experience in technical due diligence, a corporate finance qualification, willingness to travel for site visits, knowledge of Capex/Opex costs, familiarity with permits, World Bank social requirements, Equator Principles and decarbonisation technologies. • Apply knowledge of Capex/Opex costs, permits, environmental and social plans. • Utilise familiarity with World Bank social standards, Equator Principles, and decarbonisation technologies. • Possess an engineering degree and 15+ years of relevant consulting or operational experience. • Demonstrate strong report writing, presentation, and client‑facing communication skills.

Benefits

The position offers an hourly rate of $64.13–$80.34 (USD) depending on education, experience and location, with eligibility for bonus pay.
