About the Role
The intern will provide drafting and design assistance across all project phases, from report stage through construction administration, and become familiar with engineering plans, specifications, and required software. They will follow production guidelines and departmental drafting standards, perform field work under supervision, collect and prepare data, and occasionally interpret general designs to complete minor details. Coordination with technicians, designers, and engineers ensures cohesive design outcomes, and timely completion of timesheets and expense reports is expected. • Provide drafting and design assistance throughout project phases, from report stage to construction administration. • Learn and work with engineering plans, specifications, and designated software. • Follow departmental drafting standards and production guidelines. • Perform field work under supervision and collect data for analysis. • Interpret engineer‑prepared designs to complete minor details when needed. • Coordinate with technicians, designers, and engineers to ensure cohesive designs. • Complete timesheets and expense reports promptly.
