About the Role
The role sits within the Global Competency Center’s Electrical Systems team to advance knowledge in advanced power systems and electrical distribution. It will interact with multiple business units and expertise teams, leading innovation and technical work packages that address new‑energy challenges from protection to control, safety, and standards. • Model electrical distribution equipment behavior • Develop protection algorithms • Design microgrids and advanced distribution management systems • Integrate smart‑grid, renewable energy, and distribution network planning • Perform power system optimization and transient analysis • Analyze switching overvoltages, insulation coordination, and transient recovery voltage • Use simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, SimPowerSystems, PSCAD, EMTP‑ATP, PowerFactory

What You Bring
You will tackle complex problems that require deep analysis of data and multiple factors, driving and managing studies and investigations with a global mandate. Critical thinking and autonomy are essential as you lead work streams on topics such as equipment behavior modeling, protection algorithms, microgrids, smart‑grid integration, and power‑system optimization. The ideal candidate has expertise in one or more electrical fields, mastery of at least one simulation tool, and the ability to implement studies in a MathWorks environment to optimize architectures against fixed KPIs. A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required, while a PhD or senior‑level experience is preferred. Benefits
The compensation for this U.S.-based role ranges from $140,000 to $208,000 per year, including base pay and short‑term incentive. The position is for a Senior Power Systems Architect located in Raleigh, NC.
