About the Role

The Inside Sales Representative works in a team environment to professionally represent the Nucor Steel Plate Group with team members and customers on a daily basis. This team member must handle all calls and requests for information in a professional manner while working accurately and timely. Responsibilities include coordinating with customers and team members across the Nucor Plate Group to sell and service customers, providing appropriate pricing and availability, giving timely status updates, and entering orders accurately. Some travel will be required for customer visits, dinners, and industry functions. Nucor teammates are expected to participate in and promote an atmosphere of cooperation and teamwork while maintaining compliance within the Quality Control System. Safety is the most important part of all jobs; candidates must demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

What You Bring

Physical demands include extended computer use for typing, data entry, and screen time for CRM, email, and orders, frequent manual dexterity for phone and documents, and sustained visual focus on screen details. Environmental demands are primarily office‑based in a climate‑controlled setting, with occasional mill access exposing employees to noise, heat, dust, machinery, and uneven surfaces, requiring PPE. The role is fast‑paced, requiring multitasking, prioritization, and meeting deadlines. • Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent experience in industrial sales or customer service. • High proficiency with Microsoft tools. • Willingness to travel. • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship. • Knowledge of the steel plate market. • Strong customer service skills. • Knowledge of Oracle EBS.
