About the Role
Interns will work on data collection systems, advanced Excel, Access, SAP (optional), and Power BI, supporting forecast management, purchase requisition reviews, and reporting while collaborating closely with procurement, supply chain, and materials management teams. Hitachi Rail promotes career growth, encouraging employees to explore new horizons, contribute to sustainable solutions, and participate in innovative projects that shape smart cities and a better future. • Develop and maintain data collection systems using advanced Excel, Access, and optionally SAP. • Automate and manage metrics generation tools with SAP and Excel. • Coordinate forecast management with Project Procurement and Supply Chain teams; generate component forecast reports. • Review MRP master data for completeness and assist with purchase requisitions. • Produce and distribute weekly open purchase‑requisition reports in partnership with buyers. • Liaise with category managers, tactical buyers, and supply‑base teams to align procurement planning with project needs. • Provide weekly support for invoice payment reviews and consolidate due payments. • Contribute to minor projects and collaborate with cross‑functional departments to ensure successful delivery. • Participation in networking events, social gatherings, and an intern showcase graduation ceremony.

What You Bring
• Required: pursuing a Bachelor’s in Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, IT or related field; advanced Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, AI programming concepts, strong statistical and data‑analysis skills. • Must work 40 hours per week, minimum two days on‑site, and demonstrate a proactive, positive attitude. • Preferred: co‑op student available for 12 months with additional coursework remaining; prior co‑op/internship experience is a plus.

The Supply Chain Intern position is based in Toronto, Ontario, offering a 12‑month full‑time hybrid internship from April 2026 to April 2027 with a 40‑hour work week and compensation of $23‑$30 CAD per hour. Interns receive structured onboarding, mentorship through a buddy program, and hands‑on project experience.
