CAD draftsman with Civil 3D
Senior CAD Draftsman creating Civil 3D drainage designs for airports
Job Highlights
About the Role
Key responsibilities include leading the production of detailed Civil 3D drawings for runway, taxiway, and apron drainage, as well as culverts, channels, detention/retention basins, and pump‑station layouts, while integrating grading, earthworks, and utilities to create clash‑free, constructible designs. You will build and calibrate models such as the Rational Method, SWMM, and HEC‑RAS to simulate rainfall‑runoff processes, flood routing, and system capacities unique to airport environments, then interpret outputs and iterate designs to meet hydraulic performance targets and aviation standards. The role also involves preparing compliance matrices, supporting regulator approvals, and interfacing daily with airside civil, geotechnical, utilities, and structural teams to resolve drainage‑pavement interactions and protect critical underground services. You will facilitate design reviews, clash‑detection sessions, BIM coordination meetings, produce detailed drainage plans, profiles, sections, 3‑D models, technical specifications, quantity take‑offs, BoQs, and compile calculation reports and presentation materials for client and stakeholder workshops. • Produce Civil 3D drawings for runway, taxiway, apron drainage, culverts, channels, basins, and pump stations. • Integrate grading, earthworks, and utilities to deliver clash‑free, constructible designs. • Build and calibrate hydraulic models (Rational Method, SWMM, HEC‑RAS) for rainfall‑runoff and flood routing. • Interpret model results and adjust designs to meet hydraulic performance targets and aviation standards. • Prepare compliance matrices, calculation reports, and documentation for regulator approvals. • Coordinate daily with airside civil, geotechnical, utilities, and structural teams to resolve drainage‑pavement interactions. • Lead design reviews, clash‑detection sessions, and BIM coordination meetings. • Generate detailed drainage plans, profiles, sections, 3‑D models, specifications, quantity take‑offs, and BoQs.
