About the Role

You will own end‑to‑end mechanical system development, from feasibility studies and prototype builds through validation testing, agency certification, and commercialization. You will translate product requirements into structured workstreams, define milestones, and manage an engineering backlog that supports NPI timelines. You will lead design reviews, FMEAs, and risk‑mitigation activities while collaborating with commercial, manufacturing, and test teams to ensure launch readiness. • Lead end‑to‑end mechanical system development, including feasibility studies, prototyping, validation, certification, and commercialization. • Translate product requirements into structured engineering workstreams, define milestones, and manage a prioritized backlog for NPI timelines. • Conduct design reviews, FMEAs, and risk‑mitigation activities to ensure robust engineering decisions. • Engage end‑users to gather field feedback and generate feasible project ideas for the NPI funnel. • Drive research on emerging materials and processes to de‑risk future product initiatives. • Create detailed material, component, and product specifications aligned with quality standards. • Collaborate with commercial, manufacturing, sourcing, and test teams to ensure launch readiness and provide NPI training.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program and brings at least five years of relevant experience. Proficiency in SolidWorks, PDM/PLM, digital prototyping, and simulation tools such as SolidWorks Simulation or ANSYS is required, along with hands‑on expertise in metals, polymers, composites, and various manufacturing processes. Knowledge of UL, IEEE, and IEC compliance standards and the ability to work globally with sourcing and test laboratories are essential. • Hold a BS in Mechanical Engineering (ABET accredited) with at least 5 years of relevant experience. • Proficient in SolidWorks assemblies, modeling, drawings, and PDM/PLM systems; experienced in digital prototyping and rapid design iteration. • Skilled with thermal and mechanical simulation tools such as SolidWorks Simulation and ANSYS. • Hands‑on experience with metals, polymers, composites, forging, stamping, machining, molding, over‑molding, and additive manufacturing. • Knowledgeable of UL, IEEE, and IEC compliance requirements and coordinated global manufacturing and test laboratory activities.
